ZGSM – Zigbee – LoRaWAN
Cities and institutions that run smarter, spend less, and see everything.
Public infrastructure carries a different kind of responsibility. When a streetlight fails, a building system malfunctions, or an energy budget spirals – it affects people, not just operations. Zerick designs and deploys smart control systems that give municipalities and institutions real visibility, real control, and measurable results.
Who We Are in This Space
Smart city and building automation work sits at the intersection of IT, electrical infrastructure, wireless communication, and systems integration. Zerick brings the systems integration expertise and manages the full project scope. Where specialized civil or electrical work is required, we coordinate through a vetted network of subcontractors, meaning our clients deal with one point of contact, one project timeline, and one accountable partner
We work with ZGSM lighting control systems, Zigbee mesh networks, and LoRaWAN infrastructure for wide-area IoT deployments. We don’t lock clients into a single platform, we build around what the project requires and what the client can realistically operate and maintain over the long term.
Bridging the gap between physical hardware and smart control.
The Problem We Solve
Public sector organizations and institutions carry significant infrastructure: street lighting across entire municipalities, HVAC systems in large buildings, utility consumption spread across dozens of facilities with limited visibility into how any of it is actually performing.
Energy is consumed without real measurement. Faults are reported by citizens or discovered during inspection rather than detected automatically. Maintenance is scheduled by calendar rather than by actual equipment condition. And when systems are upgraded, they’re often upgraded in isolation, new lighting here, a new BMS there, without any integration between them.
Zerick builds the connective layer: control systems, sensor networks, and monitoring platforms that turn disconnected infrastructure into something that can be seen, managed, and improved from a single point of oversight.
Street & public lighting control
Centralized control and monitoring of public lighting infrastructure using ZGSM lighting management systems. Individual luminaire-level control, dimming schedules, fault detection, and energy consumption reporting, all manageable remotely. We handle both new LED installations and LED retrofit projects on existing infrastructure.
Smart building automation
Building management systems (BMS) for HVAC, access control, lighting, and energy monitoring. Automated scheduling, zone control, occupancy-based adjustments, and centralized dashboards that give facility managers actual control over their buildings.
IoT sensor networks – Zigbee & LoRaWAN
Wireless sensor networks for environmental monitoring, occupancy detection, utility metering, and equipment condition monitoring. Zigbee mesh networks for dense, short-range deployments within buildings. LoRaWAN for wide-area, low-power applications across a municipality or campus.
Energy optimization & monitoring
Measurement is the foundation of any serious energy reduction effort. We deploy energy monitoring across buildings and facilities, electricity, heating, water – with dashboards and alerting that make consumption visible in real time.
Infrastructure monitoring & fault detection
Automated alerting for equipment faults, communication failures, and anomalous readings. Problems are flagged before they become visible failures thus reducing response times, lowering maintenance costs, and extending equipment life.
Project coordination & delivery
For projects requiring electrical installation, civil works, or specialized trades, Zerick coordinates the full scope through our established subcontractor network. Clients get unified project management, a single contract, and one accountable partner.
Why Zerick
Smart city and building automation projects fail most often not because the technology doesn’t work but because the integration wasn’t thought through, the system wasn’t designed for the people who have to operate it, or the project had too many separate vendors with no one accountable for the whole.
Working on a public lighting, smart building, or IoT infrastructure project? Talk to us early! the design decisions made at the start determine what’s possible later.
Zerick takes the whole. We design the system, manage the delivery, coordinate the trades, commission the installation, and train the operators. Our subcontractor network means we’re not overstating our own capabilities, we’re extending them through partners we trust, with Zerick remaining responsible for the outcome.
